Dripstop Roofing Sheets

Dripstop roofing sheets improve upon the design of metal roofing sheets and prevent condensation from accumulating on the panel which could then drip inside the building. Dripstop roofing sheets are similar to regular roofing sheets but have an additional non-woven fabric applied to the underside during rolling. This fabric is often referred to as anti-condensation or anti-con. This membrane traps any moisture that forms on the underside of the roofing panel and continues to hold it until the atmosphere returns to a point where the moisture can be released as regular humidity.

Dripstop roofing sheets are useful for use on buildings where the build up of moisture is common, such as barns containing livestock and buildings where the inside has heating. The temperature difference between the external air and the internal environment will result in substantial moisture build-up, which can then be trapped by the Dripstop anti-condensation felt membrane. The Dripstop material itself is self-adhesive and is simply applied to the reverse side of the roofing sheet during the creation process. Dripstop roofing sheets have the material pre-applied upon their arrival and are ready to install in the same fashion as regular roofing sheets.

The Dripstop felt membrane is resistant to aging and will continue to perform for many years. Additionally, it will provide another layer of protection for your roof and will prevent moisture from damaging anything within the building. For Dripstop to work correctly, it is recommended that the building has good amounts of air ventilation to ensure that when the moisture is released is removed from the interior throughout the day. Without adequate ventilation, the system will not work correctly, and moisture will continue to accumulate within the structure.

Dripstop is a tried and tested way of preventing moisture from dripping off the roof panels that is highly cost effective, providing additional protection without a substantial increase in cost. Therefore, for roofing panels that are to be used in situations where humidity is an issue, opting for Dripstop roofing sheets is the smart choice and will continue to deliver for the lifetime of the roof.
